‘Tis the Season

Screen Shot 2016-05-17 at 9.35.28 AM Oh yes.  It is the season for allergies.  All the yellow pollen all over my nice clean black car is the sign that the coughing and sneezing is about to come.  I’ve felt horrible the last several days and can hardly breathe.  I just want it to go away.

We had to take our daughter to the doctor the other day.  She’s got a double ear infection and it’s believed to be caused by . . . you guessed it . . . allergies.

It’s believed that over 67 million people in the US suffer from allergies.  These foreign substances (allergens) causes our immune system to overact when it attempts to defend against them.

Here are some symptoms:

  • irritability
  • itchy throat
  • wheezing
  • itchy, watery eyes
  • coughing
  • runny nose
  • sneezing
  • stomach ache
  • itchy skin
  • nasal congestion
  • fatigue
  • hives

Good luck this spring/summer season.  If you’re affected, try to avoid the allergens and use anti-histamines to help with the symptoms.
